$2,500

Medicine & Pharmaceuticals:

The C2C clinic will operate in collaboration with ministries of health throughout Latin America.  The MoH provides medicine for basic vaccinations and treatment.  C2C's services will go beyond basic services and we need to supplement the MoH's pharmaceutical supplies.  Your donation of $2,500 will allow us to offer the highest quality of care.

$5,000

Skilled Nursing Staff:

C2C’s 3-person health education team will cost $10,000 annually and will reach thousands of people. The C2C clinic requires two professional nursing staff to monitor pregnancies, deliver infant care, and to provide preventative health consultations to patients. This nurse will see over 1,000 patients per year.

$10,000

      Health Education Programming:

There is no medicine as effective as prevention. Rural people need the tools and information to live healthy lives and health education programming is a central part of C2C’s mission. The clinic layout was designed for ample outdoor, shaded spaces for community education sessions. Pregnant mothers will learn about safe and health pregnancy from trained local health educators; community members will learn about HIV/AIDS transmission and prevention; and workshops on nutrition, wellness, and infant care will provide year-around information for the community. Health educators do more than lecture on health – they visit community members in their homes and provide confidential advice and training to families. C2C’s 3-person health education team will cost $10,000 annually and will reach thousands of people.

$20,000

      Physicians & Clinic Staff:

Treating over 3,000 woman and children annually will require the combined efforts of a number of clinic staff members. Two rotating physicians will provide the highest quality care to pregnant women, children under 5 years of age, and all preventive screening for the community. Assisting the physicians will be nurses, community health workers, a laboratory technician, and a registrar to maintain medical records and assist patients. Your generous donation of $20,000 will support the full clinic staff needs for 2010.

Driven by the belief that basic health interventions can save the lives of millions in the developing world, Containers to Clinics developed a new clinical model for health service delivery.  C2C retrofits portable shipping containers into health clinics with high-quality equipment, medicines, and medical staff.  The clinics are transported to underserved areas of the developing world to administer primary healthcare to women and children.  C2C’s clinics are designed with diagnostic, lighting, and climate-control technologies appropriate for low-resource settings and reflect local cultural traditions and health education needs.  By repurposing shipping containers, C2C exports access to better health around the world and closes the gap between available treatments and the women and children who desperately need them.
